I share how serving in my church inspired me to bring up grief as a discussion topic after several recent deaths in my community. I remembered losing my father-in-law to cancer and how that experience changed my outlook on life, family, and purpose. Through loss, I’ve learned that grief gives us “stunning awareness”, a deep understanding that forces us to grow, change, and appreciate what really matters.
